I was a little sad my mushroom was taken and my sibling did some digging and found out that there actually is another species in the rhotodus genus that looks identical to the the palmatus one in the physical eye but is different enough in cellular build, has different looking spores and grows in a different climate (subtropical climates, specifically in China) for it to be counted as a different species!!
